Each year, the American Red Cross responds immediately to nearly 70,000 disasters, including house or apartment fires (the majority of disaster responses), hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills, transportation accidents, explosions, and other natural and man-made disasters.

These efforts can not be made without the help of people like you. There are more than 170,000 Red Cross disaster volunteers. Young and old, from all geographic areas, and all economic levels, everyone, including you, has something to offer.
